Thanks again,

I have tried many of these, to no avail. If I try to move the files
out of trash, it just makes copies of the file and the original is
still in the trash, now I have many files in the trash as I have
needed to move the ones from the desktop back into the trash. This
is getting ridiculous.

I went to VersionTracker, under force empty trash it comes up with
Cocktail (which I already have), and sure enough it has a tab to
force empty the trash, doesn't work. I will now download the program
"Force Empty Trash", but I am not getting excited. This is unreal,
the file (which says it is a sample bar code font) is not in use by
anything, I can't even find the font on the system other than in the
trash, so if it is in use then I can't trash it.

I have been using these great machines since the 80's and I have
never had anything like it. The old program that this font was
associated with was an OS 9 program, but I had not used the program
in years, I had even forgotten about it.

I'll keep trying, thanks to all.
