That is already checked, but now the external HD icon has disappeared, and all I can see is the info (how much capacity, how much free space)! This gets weirder by the minute. This is probably more an issue with the user not having enough savvy, and inadvertently hitting something wrong somewhere, but for now, I guess I will try to restart and see what comes of it!
