I repaired permissions, twice, and things did improve on one hand, but on the other hand, I still can't see a cd rom on my desktop (either loaded in the slot or in the external burner), so now I have to resolve the desktop issue. I can see the external harddrive there, though...Any ideas?
I could use Lee's suggestions, getting at the root, but still need to know line commands & such, sigh... After that, I have to figure out why the hp scanner app keeps quitting or won't print...always something, darn it! > ---------- > From: owner-macgroup at erdos.math.louisville.edu on behalf of Jerry > Freeman > Reply To: macgroup at erdos.math.louisville.edu > Sent: Tuesday, October 11, 2005 9:28 PM > To: macgroup at erdos.math.louisville.edu > Subject: Re: MacGroup: force to trash resolved [bcc][faked-from] > > > On Oct 11, 2005, at 6:12 PM, Green, Cathy wrote: > > > First of all, let me say I feel a total idiot! > You now meet all qualifications as an official member of the list :) > > I was able to trash the offending files, as well as Internet Explorer. > It always helps to trash IE :) > > these things remain a mystery to me, and I'm resigned to that/I've > > accepted it, > I suspect a permissions problem.
