Oddly enough, today I noticed that my Western Digital external hard drive
had disappeared off the desktop, and SuperDuper backup software reported it
could not be found.

It was time to swap it out with my alternate external hard drive, so I went
ahead and swapped it out with no problem.

I actually suspect the disappearance was caused by a loose Firewire cable
connection at computer's port. Yesterday I had plugged and unplugged another
Firewire cable adjacent to this one, and my hunch is that in doing so I had
slightly dislodged the first cable.
