My cell phone bit the dust this week. So I'm thinking about getting a

advantage of all the apps that are available?

I'd advise you to get someone with an AT&T phone to come over and try it out. Where I live, near Highway 42 between I-64 and I-264 the AT&T coverage is atrocious. There are 0 bars with both Edge and 3G inside our house and all the way up to maybe 1 bar on the deck outside. We've never had any such problems with Verizon.
