Even with USB drives, you can theoretically (sp?) connect up to 25 units in a "daisy-chain" configuration. That is, USB to USB connections. As for usb to f/w, there should be no problem with that setup either, just that you may slow the transfer speeds down a bit, mixing the two protocols.
