I'm on my 4th Mac laptop. The first three I didn't buy Applecare and
regretted it. Something happened to each of them.

I once asked Lee Larson, why he buys Applecare for his laptops but not
his desk tops. He told me (and I'm paraphrasing) it's easier to trouble
shoot and fix a desktop machine than a laptop. The laptops get moved and
banged a lot and he says he always buys Applecare for them. (That
conversation was held three or four years ago).

Two years after I bought my MacBook Pro, the logic board went kaput and
MacAuthority fixed it under Applecare at no charge to me.

Applecare for three years - $349.00

New logic board plus labor much more than $349.00 (they didn't tell me
but I figure it would have cost around $600.
