Your G5 iMac will run up to 10.5.whatever, mine has it and runs perfectly...
If you can borrow a copy of 10.5 you can install it, or Apple, MacAuthority
will be glad to sell you a copy... You also might check Amazon, sometimes
they heavily discount older os'
