You might have trouble with the final software update with leopard. I have a 
17" iMac G5 that did not like the final software update update when I did it 
last summer. The iMac restarted to a grey screen. I had to reinstall the os

The g5 Mac's are at end of life. Start thinking about replacing it as a main 
machine.
