I am running a G5 Mac on system 10.5.8 and it works well, but when I
switched systems I was forced to buy or update a lot of solfware.
Some, like Photoshop, would not work any longer, so I no longer have
that expensive program.
When I switched systems, I had some other work done, so I purchased
the new system at MacAuthority, and let them install it for me, as the
computer was there anyhow. I do not recall the charge, but they
returned the computer up and working, and gave me a box with three
discs, OS Tiger, iWork 06, and something called ION, which says it
contains EZ audio Converter for Mac. I have not had need to use any of
these discs as yet, but I would like to keep them, in case anything
goes wrong with my computer.
However, If you would like to borrow them for a day or two, and
promise to return the package undamaged, I suppose I could lend them
to you. I live out in north Shelby County, about three miles from US
60 just off Ky 53. If you want to drive out here, I can give you
directions.

Thanks for your response. Actually, I have a newer MacBook; I'm hoping
to get this new iTouch working on the iMac for my niece. I'm finding
that the 10.5.x disk is pretty expensive. Amazon has it for $130. I
haven't been able to find it online any cheaper. If I hadn't already
shelled out $250 for the iTouch I wouldn't mind so much.

The g5 Mac's are at end of life. Start thinking about replacing it
as a main machine.
