I tried the same, with the same results.  I went back to using the BBB plus 
this

Should be noted for all you will either need to remove the USB port where 
the Power port used to be, or use a set of headers to raise the CRAMPS 
board up as it doesn't clear it.

I should get back to figuring out why the BBGW fails in a week or so.
