With Apple Care I don't have to worry about that for 3 years. And that's the reason why I need a new machine. My work MacBook is not covered anymore and it tends to kill its HD only when I'm in the middle of a tough job right before the deadline... I'm also using my 10 years old clam-shell as a Linux machine and my 9 years old Titanium as a machine for my elder son (trying to lure him into learning ruby by promising to get him a Nano if he completes Chris Pine's "Learn to program"). So right now we're doing not too bad on the green scale. And I'd sure want to learn some electronics to get into the back of the iMac when it gets old, to fix what I can fix... > This is also probably part of the devious plan ;-) Because I bet you (or I) > wouldn't stop with the low-end iMac. My wallet would stop me :) Plus I'm seeing the 24" on my wife's desk and I can't imagine having to deal with a 27" _plus_ and external 23" screen only for translation work... And the Mac Pro is ~way~ out of reach. > The iMac also comes with keyboard and mouse but still doesn't have a > customisable / upgradeable graphics card (cf Cube). No real need for that. I'll get a Touch to play games ;) Cheers, Jean-Christophe Helary --------------------------------- fun: mac4translators.blogspot.com work: www.doublet.jp (ja/en > fr) tweets: @brandelune _______________________________________________ MacOSX-talk mailing list [email protected] http://www.omnigroup.com/mailman/listinfo/macosx-talk
