Hi Steve,

As you and Bruce suggested, I will check out the pmset settings tonight when I 
get home.  It looks like I should try both

pmset -g

and

pmset -g sched

It's too bad the Console log does not report which application is issuing the 
pmset command (or maybe it does and I just don't know how to interpret it).
