Well, any such changes are a _very_ low priority for this release.  I would
love to make more changes, but it is much more important to get a new
release out.  And as you might guess, it is not just taking the time to
make the changes, but also to test, debug, fix when bug reports come in,
etc.

So I am guessing we will not have a new text editor for the MacPerl app for
the next release.  I make no promises, though.  :-)  This is also a
possible opportunity for someone else to step in and work on it; I am not
promising it can be included in the next release, but someone else doing it
would certainly increase the chances of such a thing.

As to the AE stuff; I haven't looked at it, but if it will not break
existing code, since the changes are simple, we can consider it.  I know
some work needs to be done on the AE stuff, though, so I might be inclined
to just put a hold on it until we could do it all at once.
