Just to try and save Chris from YAAAM (Yet another "as always"
message):

"As always, please submit a bug report or a patch or a feature request
to SourceForge." (That'll be macperl.sf.net)

[[ For what it's worth: a semi-rant from an interested bystander, and
long-time beneficiary of all the effort that Chris, Matthias, Thomas et
al pour into the package.]] Nice as it might be to shore up the editor,
surely that's just going to be duplicating work that's already been
done by the much larger development teams devoted to (say) BBEdit and
Alpha, and hence an almost infinite "love of labour" as each user finds
just one more thing that he or she would like to work "as it does in my
favourite editor"? The existing editor allows people to get started
writing scripts on a mac, and that is utterly necessary in the
environment, but it shouldn't aim to compete with dedicated products.
(Of course if there's someone dying to contribute just such
functionality they should reply to this message and tell this aptly
named "user" to slink back into his hole.)

ps kudos for the work the developers have been doing in making MacPerl
a first class Perl citizen. The 5.6.1 beta has run like a dream every
time I've tried anything with it, (and somewhat faster than its
5.004 based predecessor in some tasks).
