The subject has come up before, as some have noted. Where it was left: Alan Fry was looking into the possibility of editor improvements, and it was decided that unless someone else (i.e., not me) did them, they probably wouldn't be done, since I have limited time, and want to work on the core MacPerl with that limited time.
I agree that there are a few things that could be done to improve the editor, especially ones recently mentioned.
