It is consistently reproducible on my system
Power Mac 7600/132
64M memory (65M virtual memory)
Mac OS 8.6
problem persists after re-building desktop, zapping pram, defragmenting
disk, none (except Finder), one or more other apps running.
If anyone can suggest any tests they want carried out I'd be willing to try
them.
