Hi Janina. What you could do in the meantime until someone sighted can help you with your login issue is in system preferences under privacy and security I think it is, enable automatic login. Or if you're the only user of your Mac, delete your password altogether and not bother logging in. This is what I do since most of the time I keep my Mac at home and I'm very careful who uses it. I know some people may disagree with this approach, but it's what you're comfortable with and if you're having problems logging in.
