Hi Tim, That's what I find so intriguing. I wasn't seeing any reports on the list about this change of behaviour and yet on my macbook pro May 2014 it happens. As you say: when I access the menu extra with vo+mm shortcut combination, I have to use vo+arrow keys and vo+spacebar to activate an individual menu item. But when I press control+f8, all I hear is "application", and I appear to be stuck. Adding fn key doesn't work because I have that option changed in the system preferences menu to use fn key only access additional functions of the fn keys. I've tried it anyway but nothing happened. It's not a deal breaker but I do miss the control+f8. Control+f3 for dock activation still works thank goodness.
If you can think of anything that I might have misconfigured, please let me know.
