Hi,
Also, it sounds like your internet connection might be having some
problems as well.

Christine,
Sounds like it's being less than cooperative for you. How about we
try to download the entire Sierra installer from the AppStore then.
When in the AppStore on your Mac, press cmd-4 to bring focus to your
purchases. Sign in if needed. There should be a table with your list
of purchases. Interact with it and see if Sierra is in there. If it
is, then to the far right of that row should be an Install or Download
button, press it. If for some reason, Sierra is not in your list of
purchases, press cmd-f and enter Sierra in the resulting field, then
press return. MacOS Sierra should be your first result in the Search
Results. Locate the Install button within the info for MacOS Sierra
and press it. If it says that you already have Sierra, press the "So
What" button, oops, I mean the Continue button. If the download
progress is not available in this screen, press cmd-4 again to bring
up the Purchases scree and interact with the Other Purchases table,
you should find the download progress in there.
See if you have any more success this way.

Tim, I did attempt to download the regular update directly from Apple,
but it will not download completely. It has stopped at 34.9 MB, 36.6
mb, and 40.5 MB.
I have downloaded other items with no problem.

Scott,
Christine did say 10.12.2, so I'd assume that it's the MacOS that is
causing the frustration. It sounds to me that the Installer log is
confused. There are ways of editing the log, but it would probably
be much easier simply to find the stand-alone installer for 10.12.2
on Apple's site. Download it, then run that installer to update your
system. If you have problems, let us know.

You do not update the IOS through the App Store.
You go to settings, general, software update and then click install.
YOu’ll.be <http://ll.be/> prompted for you pin, enter your pin and
then wait a while, the file will download and you’ll click install.
All will complete at that point on it’s own and it can take several
minutes where the phone seems dead. Just leave it alone once it
starts to install and be sure you’re plugged in.
Hope that helps.

In a nutshell: My automatic update did not work, though I received a
notification and authorized the download. I tried rebooting I tried
manual downloading. I tried clearing my history and attempted
downloading again. The only updates shown when I go to the update
tab in the App Store are Pages and Numbers, which I downloaded weeks
ago. Each time I hit “Update All” it soon says “no updates
available” — and yet, moments later, 2 updates are again available.
I am at a loss. :(
Help! TIA.
Christine
P.S. I have an early 2014 11-inch MacBook Air running Sierra with 4
gigs.
