Hi, As mentioned by others, there's no need to have Apple Music. You should be able to play music from your iPod via AirPlay to the HomePod wirelessly, thus, playing your music from the exact playlists and such that reside on the iPod itself. Regarding the inclusion of a 3.5 mm jack, I would bet big money that you'll never see such an animal on the HomePod, it just doesn't fit the use model that Apple has for the HomePod.
