Hi, I disagree that Bootcamp is better than Vmware.
Yes Vmware does cost money, but it has tons of advantages. Having access to all the resources of the machine is not always required by a single os. In fact in some cases different os’s can run faster in a virtual environment than they do natively because of how the schedulers in the different kernels work. Also using a vm has many advantages such as being able to run multiple systems side by side and the ability to have true backups of the system that are easy to put back in place if something goes wrong. A prime example of this is in the latest windows update that deleted user data when upgrades were done. If this had happened to someone they could make a copy of the machine before the upgrade and revert back as if nothing had happened and wait for Microsoft to fix their bugs. One thing I will say is that when using vms you will want to have a ssd in your machine to prevent latency from slowing you down. Vmware is a great product and I use this on my physical machines here as well as in multiple data centers that I manage racks in. I second the recommendation to use Bootcamp. Since Vmware is a virtual environment, you only have access to part of the resources of your machine. Naturally, this makes Windows run slower than it normally would. With Bootcamp, you have access to all of your resources. I’m now using Bootcam, and it’s working very very well.
