Hi, I have lived this dilemma personally over the past several years with my Airbook. Ultimately, I grew tired of paying up for a new version of VMware every year or so.
I've also become tired of receiving email advertising from VMware. Think I'll add them to my kill file. There is one additional option, however, that probably bears mention, Virtualbox. After all, the point is an accessible virtual machine, not so much the brand of that machine. Since I have a functioning Windows 10 under Bootcamp, I'm currently investigating to learn whether I can put both options on my machine, the native environment via Bootcamp when that seems sufficient, and a vm when I want both environments available simultaneously<simultaneously.> I haven't walked these steps yet, but I did find the following set of instructions very interesting. I'm going to check these out this weekend: https://gist.github.com/tap52384/9971deac57ea5ba9f39fcde0a84cbcf2 Best, Janina Simon Fogarty writes: > The only thing is that if you need both environments at one time then vm > fusion is the better option but I do prefer windows in bootcamp rather than vm > > From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On > Behalf Of Ryan Mann > Sent: Thursday, 22 November 2018 1:48 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: VMware or booth camp? > > I second the recommendation to use Bootcamp.
