Don't know why they removed something that has been part f the apple computer world for many many years,
It use to indicate that all services were functioning correctly. As to why, I suspect it's as simple as most sighted computer users, perhaps I should say many sighted users have a strong aversion to automated sounds from their machines, even at the boot stage. However, what is not understandable is why this can't be a configurable option those of us who rely on it might choose to invoke in ou machine profiles. I think someone filed a bug, but I also think it was a bug too restricted by machine model. I could be wrong.
