Yes, I've done that and it is not stating anything out of the norm. I was 
worried that the computer is too old for the update. I don't want to buy a  new 
Mac since it is not my primary computer. However if it totally stopped working 
I'd get a new one because there are certain things I use it for that I can't do 
on Windows.

    When you open Software Update, do you navigate past the "your mac is up to 
date" dialog to see if there is anything else? According to information from 
Apple, your Mac is in fact too old to take Monterey.
