Hi Danny
I'm relatively new at this myself. But if you have iCloud turned on on your
phone and mac, , and have contacts checked in there it should work absolutely
fine. I recently restored my iPad from scratch, and once I turned iCloud on in
settings, the contacts all came back from the cloud onto my iPad. I've had the
occasional issue with multiple contacts being generated, but they are easy to
delete, and I have not lost anything. iCloud is just under settings.
Good luck.
