Has anyone noticed that a change in the way Voice Over relays the caps on/caps
off state has changed? Prior to OIS7, pressing the caps lock key resulted in
VO saying caps lock on or caps lock off with an IOS device such as an Iphone.
Currently, the response is uninformatively the same: caps lock off. This
response prevents a blind person from determining whether the letters being
typed into the message are capitalized or not. Not very pretty.

On the same theme, HHS (Health and Human Services) commissioned a web design
survey relating to how blind consumers prefer their web design. The Survey
Monkey survey shows an HHS person with email contact at the start of the
survey. However, after completing this survey, there is no way to look at the
intro material and copy or obtain the email. A survey participant would have
to know in advance that the survey would not permit returning to previously
accessed pages and write down or link to access the email before proceeding
with the survey.

The survey asks at the end about the participants' visual accuity. Either I am
very much missing something while using my Iphone, but, the checkbox available
is only for low vision. A survey participant must check this box in order to
proceed. I did not locate any checkbox indicating no vision, totally blind or
the like. It would be a shame if that little detail got left out of a survey
to measure blind user preferences with web design.

Anybody else take this survey? I would be curious about the missing checkbox.
If it is me, well, that's my problem. It the survey is set up to not select
for totally blind members of the population, that would seem to represent a
bias.

Cheree Heppe

OK, I have this app. I believe getting to the calendar view is very tricky. I
will try to look at it. I do not use the app for that. I only use it to add
calendar events. I can’t explain why but I just much prefer Fantastical for
this. If I remember correctly, the calendar view pops up when the mouse hovers
over something. I will ask my son to look at it with me and get back to you
soon. :)
