Hi,

You don’t have to sync your contacts via iCloud.  You don’t even need to log 
into iCloud if you don’t want to.  This article in my opinion, seems to be 
pointing out concerns  for people running servers, for small business, etc.  
I’m not saying the concerns aren’t valid, but they really only apply to a small 
percentage of Mac users.
