Comment (by [EMAIL PROTECTED]):
Adding myself to the long queue of reports here.
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T60 that has an integrated AR5212. I'm using it
with Ubuntu Feisty 7.04. ath_pci is currently 0.9.4.5 (0.9.3.1). Using
this integrated wlan, I can barely connect to my wireless router if I'm
closer that three feet. If I walk away a little then the receive level
drops and I loose the connection pretty quicly.
I added an external wireless card which turned out to be another AR5212
from Linksys. With this card I could get a bit more reception but I still
have to be on the same room with the router, which is not very normal.
Even in this case, the new wireless interface drops and regains connection
every now and then, overriding the configuration of my VPN client and
disrupting my work.
Any chance we can get some attention on this problem? It sounds it is not
at all rare. I would be willing to contribute some of my time to help if I
got some direction.
