Comment (by [EMAIL PROTECTED]):
good news ... finally ... YES !!!!
I installed subversion, checked out the latest trunk version,
make clean; make all; make reinstall
Reboot
And it worked ! I'm writing this entry over the WiFi link :)
The Transmit Power seems to be stable high (17 dBm), maybe other changes
also helped solve the problem.
Just posting this back to let people know how 'easy' it is to fix this
annoying issue :)

good news ... finally ... YES !!!!
Installed subversion, checked out the latest trunk version,
make clean; make all; make reinstall
Reboot
And it worked ! I'm writing this entry over the WiFi link :)
The Transmit Power seems to be consistently high (17 dBm now, 50 mW),
maybe other changes also helped solve the problem.
Just posting this back to let people know how 'easy' it is to fix this
annoying issue :)
