A good example of what I wrote earlier in this thread ("translating
the meaning, not the word").

A "Grube" can be a coal mine or any other sort of mine. It also can be
a small hole in the ground. A very old German children song is named
"Häschen in der Grube" ("Little bunny in the den"). Translating
"Grube" with "mine" in this context would be a totally different thing
:)

dict.leo.org lists 19 english words which all translate to "Grube" in German.
