I'm not going to use Mahogany at all until it becomes a newsreader
:o(.

However, if I don't start getting *some* readers to use a reasonable
layout today, none will be usable for me even when they get all the
other features, and new reader projects will start up without having
the neccessary configurability.  I urge you to leave the capability
in.
