in the current version, it just tells me that it can't delete the message.

marking a message read just tells me it's not allowed to do it in this type
of folder.

i think that marking messages read/unread is basic functionality that will
need to be addressed first.

for consistency, i'd prefer it if we were using similar labeling and
commands to the mail reader. probably there needs to be a newsrc like
database for article status, or possibly fancier than newsrc.

i hadn't ever looked -- does mahogany need/expect any of the db/dbm style
databases? if not, is it reasonable to add such a dependency?
