Once Wxwindows stops changing about 100 files per day in their CVS we might have a chance :-) We are also slowly finding a few bugs and fixing them. I'm not a C++ programmer and even I fixed one last night LOL > 3 seconds to display a list digest of 20 emails ... > I think Vadim blamed the MS rich text controls, but > I'm not sure about that. If so, it may be Windows > specific. Aha. Rich text is not a marvellous part of the code at present. That is more of a long term thing at present. At the moment we are working to getting text side of things working 100%. Of course the rich side depends on wxWindows a lot. Once they stabilise things we will be able to evaluate where we are at. wx gives us a lot of benefits but OTOH is also a big dependancy. > > you to try [AbiWord] out as an external editor as it presently > > stands :-) > > Ooof. As I said, this is a naive and ignorant proposal. All input is valuable. It would be nice just to recompile and drop it in but things seldom go that smoothly :-) > > Please expand? > > E.g., let them appear in my external text-editor > for direct editing. I believe mutt allows this? Aha. In he editable part of the text rather than in the GUI header block.
