For pine, they are using patches from Eduardo Chappa (http://staff.washington.edu/chappa/pine/) including maildir support. I'll put it into bugzilla entry. And for UW-imap it seems that it does not have maildir support in Gentoo. > RC> Another way could be a global option in Preferences saying something > RC> like 'Use Nick Name as alias'. > > I.e. this would replace occurrences of any email address associated > with this ADB entry with its nick name? This option does not need to be much configurable I think (maybe just to let user choose which ADB field should be used as alias - someone may prefer Full Name instead of Nick Name but it is not so important). The goal is just to have simple thing that will make sorting by 'From' column more usefull. Regarding slowness due to ADB access -- the map of mail addresses _with_ defined aliases can be stored in separated file, not in ADB. In most cases it will contain small number of entries (no wast amount of auto-collected addresses). This file can be read at app. start to some structure that allows fast searching (a dictionary where address will be used as key and alias as a value perhaps?). It will be forbidden to have same address for more aliases. It makes no sence either -- an address belongs to only one person. Mahogany will pops up an error message when user tries to do somethig like this. I'll create a bug entry. And... ehm, I again forgot to mention one wish (oh man, my wish-list is getting long). 9. When forwarding a mail, attachments from original message should be included in new one also. I remember that it was discussed here in the past, I do not remember the solution but I remember that I did not like it much. :-) Thanks, Robert -- Robert Cernansky E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Jabber: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by the 2008 JavaOne(SM) Conference Don't miss this year's exciting event.
