Granted. And really sorry for shouting anyone. >Our stated agenda is to remove language barrier to computing. It is >not a secret agenda. We would love to see all user groups in Kerala >allowing discussions in Malayalam. Lets have this discussion here, >Does this list want to impose English only emails? I love to see all Keralites compute in their own language. But even in Unicode Malayalam, people without having basic level knowledge in English Phonetic Spelling cannot input Malayalam well. If I am wrong, please correct me. And There should not impose anyone to use any language. You have full freedom to use any language according to your convenience. Stay there where you are comfortable. But do not disturb others feelings. >When you have got a beautiful language with 26 alphabets and words heavily borrowed from >all other major languages , it will be the best language for technical communication. From >a emotional perspective , using the native language is better. I assume Technical stuff do >not posses emotions Wrong. There is only one alphabet and in the alphabet there is 26 letters. >So in future we might come across this >Let posts be in English. if some one wants to do "private" communication , >they have got the freedom to use their mother tongue. In this case , Malayalam >should be given importance as it is the primary language of most of the people here. >You can also post in Hindi , Swahili , Oriya and Bengali etc , if you wish. I do NOT agree with you at all, Praseed. This is Indian Libre User Group, Cochin, Not ILUG, California. You can use either English or Malayalam based on which language suits the post or according to your convenience. I switched to Malayalam in this post because the post is regarding with Malayalam Character encoding. And there is no public/private messaging in the mailing list as far as I know.
