Ok. I tried a lot of things and then decided to fullscreen MailPlane. At that point the cosy view was enabled. Once I came out of fullscreen mode, the compact view was re-enabled. I don't use MailPlane in fullscreen on my iMac. However, I'd still like to use cosy view. Anyway... acm
