I use Surfer 8.0 everday. Unfortunately, the export to MIF does not work properly. Not all contours, text and colors are drawn in the export process. I use Surfer to calculate trends and residuals on geologic formations then bring the calculated surfer grid into MapInfo to let Vertical Mapper contour it. Surfer is super powerful for polynomial trend and residual maps, isochore mapping, performing grid to grid calculations, blanking, contouring faulted areas and performing volumetric calculations. Surflink does not work with MI 7.0 and Surfer 8.0. I have been screaming for a new updated SurfLink for about a year now. I would buy a copy in a heart beat, even if it cost $1000.
