This has given me more than one headache in the past!!
I had a fairly detailed layout crreated with about 1000 place names
labelled and all moved to what was thought to be an appealing position. Low
and behold when plotted the labels appeared on top of the @%$&^? point.
Label offset didn't seem to make any difference!

I was fortunate to have access to several machines that are networked so I
tried opening the session on various machines as a last resort. Finally one
of the machines plotted the labels where they were supposed to be. I still
don't know why- was it a different graphics card, plotter driver, I'm not sure.

The frustrating thing was even when I viewd the Layout in "Actual Size"
(this apparently shows you a WYSIWYG layout) the labels were plotted on top
of the point.

All I can recommend is before you position hundreds of labels try a test
plot after positioning several.

cheers
Glenn
