I'm aware of GISDK, and I was excited when Caliper decided to include it in the base product, but I have yet to get it to do anything useful. The real problems I have relate to lack of specific examples. For instance, I can look up a function in the Help, and I can see the syntax, but I can not determine how to apply that to my circumstance. Having code samples within help for every function (like in microsoft Excel, for instance) would really help. If there were a macro recorder, it would be a snap to do just about anything, but without one, it's really hard to even know where to start. I wanted to make a macro that would open existing layouts, apply a marker to the map, and print it out, and even asking a couple questions here I just couldn't get it to work.
