I highly recommend Maptitude. When I want to get something done RIGHT NOW I use Maptitude-as I have since 1998. Manifold is a fine option if you don't mind painfully slow software and have 5-10 years programming experience and are expert with SQL. You also have to have a high tolerance for abuse when you ask for help on their forum-otherwise it's fine. Arcmap is OK if you have a huge budget, and a staff to help you accomplish simple tasks. Arcmap's latest release is actually more complicated and less capable. If the trend is consistent, the next version of Arcmap will do even less (without $2500 extensions) than the current version. -- Fred C. Dilger PhD. (702) 290-6990 ------------------------ Yahoo!
