I live in the District of Columbia, so for me there is no problem.  Trump has
zero chance of taking the District's small pot of electoral votes, so that for
any socialist in the city to vote for the hopelessly compromised bidenharris
ticket--who are already "reaching out across the aisle" to achieve
"reconciliation" with the Intelligent Conservative--should be out of the
question.  I'm voting for Howie Hawkins.

Trump's Bonapartist conspiracies, however, do exceed even the worst excesses of
Nixon and threaten the raddled old Constitution itself, including the right to
vote.  I do believe that voting is a fundamental right, though a socially
necessary one, not a divinely appointed one, so merely to purchase the chance
of more elections, as problematic as that certainly is, might be worth the
moral cost of voting, in cases where the electoral outcome is in doubt, for
what is clearly a reactionary stinker of a Democratic "team."  There is also
the matter of the pandemic, which could be conquered by just about any
traditional bourgeois government, but will probably not be by whatever
quadruple amputee fiasco Trump winds up running.

It should be "crystal clear" however--as politicians used to say--that the
Hardingesque "normalcy" people think they'll get from bidenharris isn't going
to happen.  I think Covid will be overcome if "normal" governance is restored,
but the economic crisis can't be, and all hell is likely to break loose once
this becomes obvious.  We have only begun to see the impact--the panic that
will afflict a bidenherris gov't once it becomes obvious just how futile the
neoliberal panacea of a "rainbow of entrepreneurs" (of varying ethnicities and
sexual identities) really is may surprise everybody.

This is especially true when "police reform" in all likelihood will consist of
continuing the deployment of federal elite police locally nationwide but under
a cosmetically different Democratic "brand." That is the only strategy that
will permit the elimination of the current SWAT &c subsidies and lavish grants
of military hardware while still pursuing "law and order" with ever-greater
vigilance.  Whole budget lines could be whacked and the result trumpeted as
reform, while the money poured into "police reform" would permit the expansion
of all that in a far more centralized and potentially dictatorial manner.
