Official mortality figures for Sweden during the six months January-June 2020 are just in. They show that there was an increase in mortality for men of 14% and for women 10% compared to the same period in 2019, attributed to Covid. We should then remember that Covid started to spread for real in Sweden only during the last 2-3 months of this six month period. So, yes, Covid has definitely led to an increase in mortality rates. A rather sharp one, I’d say.
