Louis, I am far enough to the left, that I see the differences between the two
as miniscule. This is one point, where both far left communists, and far right
libertrians both agree.

The fact is, both parties are capitalist, imperialist, war mongring parties. As
such, there is no reason any self respecting Marxist should support either of
them. Progressives have been trying to pull the Democratic Party to the left,
since the days when Jimmy Carter introduced neoliberalism into the DP, as a
result of the shellacking McGovern received in 1972. How has that worked out
for the left? If I am not mistaken, the CPUSA has been supporting Democrats
since at least the 1930s. This practice would have made some sense during the
time of the New Deal ,but Truman soon brought the Dems back to its reactionary,
racist, ultranationalist roots.

The DSA seems to suffer from a perpetual identity crisis. Do they want to be a
genuine M-L organization, or merely a progressive auxillary of the DP? As long
as the DSA remains so divided, they will never make any real progress.

Louis, I ask you, and others on this list, what type of organization should one
form if one wishes to build a large revolutionary vanguard movement, whose
eventual goal is to break free of the bonds of capitalism, and all that
capitalism can bring. Imperialism, white supremacy, war, sexism,
heteronormativity, speciesism, environmental destruction etc. It is our job as
Marxists to educate the public at large, that all these problems have
capitalism as its root  cause. This can only be done through building a large
enough revolutionary vanguard. This takes real leadership, something that has
been sorely lacking on the left, ever since the movements of the 60s fell apart.

While I could never condone actions, such as those taken in Washington, on
January,6 ,it does reflect on how the right is able to organize mass movements,
and has been for the last 40+ years of its contemporary history. The likes of
The Proud Boys, and QAnon, not only can trace their roots back to the KKK 150
years ago, Nazi Germany, and the America First groups of Nazi sympathizers, of
the 1930s, but also to more recent movements, like the Moral Majority, and The
Tea Party. I trust most of you have seen the size of the crowd, that was
assembled outside the Capitol, while QAnon Shaman, and his boys went about
their rampage inside. What movements has the left been able to build, that can
compare to anything the right has done in recent decades, in terms of size,
scope, and influence on society?
