The first 20th Century fascist state in Europe, was established in
Hungary in 1919 and led by Miklos Horthy.

socialist revolutions. Remember that Bela Kun led a Hungarian Soviet
Republic in 1919.
The U.S. Klan was formed in the 19th Century, and I would suggest they
were a fascist force and had local state power to
terrorize and oppress, for the economic benefit of the landowner wealthy.
The KKK never had the goal of overthrowing the government. It was to
enforce Jim Crow. The closest analogy today are the ultraright orthodox
Jews in Israel using violence to intimidate Palestinians in the West Bank.
