James P. Cannon might have been wrong to try to build a Trotskyist party in the USA based on Zinoviev's fucked-up organizational norms but there's one thing that he said that is pure genius: "The art of politics is knowing what to do next". Right now, there is no point in worrying about how to defend against counter-revolution. It is much more urgent to figure out how to provide solidarity to the Amazon workers in Alabama trying to organize a union and then generalize their efforts across the country. I see this as key to moving the class struggle forward as were the teamsters strike in Minneapolis or the auto strike in Flint in the 1930s.
