That's a non-productivist, ecosocialist demand, isn't it? Tom Walker and others
have voiced ideas such as that on marxmail. It's compelling to me because the
volume of trade is a big part of the global warming problem starting with
extraction, processing, manufacturing and shipping. That implies great hidden
costs that an effective taxing regime would address to put a price on the
environmental degradation that occurs along the supply chain. The 15-for-40, or
whatever kind of workweek reduction, skips the government and puts the money
into the workers' pockets.

Their children and everybody else. It sounds like a great job, and I expect
they will be in demand. It would likely be emulated by workers in other
industries.
