With respect, Tony, I believe you’re confusing solidarity actions on behalf of oppressed peoples abroad aimed at obstructing their state's assistance to foreign oppressors and occupiers with revolutionary defeatism. The latter calls on the armed forces to *mutiny and overthrow* their capitalist state and ruling class. The former seeks to change state policy through nonviolent action.
I haven't read Michael Probsting’s comments closely enough, but I believe in his case he may be confusing support for national struggles (Ukraine, Iran, Palestine), based on the widely-recognized right of national self-determination, with revolutionary defeatism which was a much more ambitious objective and specific to the revolutionary left of the international socialist movement before and during WW I. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
