Just a quick clarification:

Matterhorn has a REST endpoint stop recordings prematurely so it should
be fairly trivial to hook this up to an application, webpage, or device
(e.g. AMX/crestron).  Pausing is different than on/off; it's not by any
means impossible, but I don't know of anyone working on this feature.

If you would like pausing over on/off you should file a community
feature request on our jira so people can comment on it and developers
can start to think about what it might take to implement.  If you just
want premature end of lecture you just need to decide how you want to
make that available to an instructor and wire it up suitably.
