I think this is far from being a priority in the official roadmap, but it's also a feature that every Spaniard adopter so far would like over many others. The ability for the teacher to override the scheduling (by simply pausing or restarting the recording), even starting an unscheduled recording themselves, as well as some kind of very simple monitoring system to make sure things are being recorded is in the top of our list.
I don't see that so far away: we (well, the gurus) are implementing a really cool and flexible authorization system. Once that is in place, it should not be hard to think of a web accessible UI for the capture agent which, depending on your "clearance level" could allow you to pause or stop a recording. The hardest work would be on the capture agent, which, in my humble opinion, should have its structure reorganized to a much-more-modular approach, and of course the monitoring part, which has proven harder to implement than we had thought. I'd also like to point out that, even though for many institutions the "red button" (the ability for a lecturer to start and stop the recording in place) was not a priority whatsoever, it turned out, with time, to be one of the most demanded, and I anticipate that, as the number of adopters grows, it will become the most wanted feature in the list. My opinion and "vote", for what is worth, is to prioritize, if possible, a basic monitorization and control system for the capture agent.
